Analysis of Croydon Guardian

The Croydon Guardian is a weekly freesheet tabloid newspaper published in two editions for the London Borough of Croydon. It’s published by Newsquest (South London).

- Content within the newspaper focuses on the main stories around Croydon to do with crime and education but also features more on individual people around Croydon for example a person in a wheel chairs hopes of one day walking again.

- Croydon Guardian uses the new layout of a tabloid newspaper. This is due to the 3 large photos and headline and numerous adverts. The stories in the newspaper tends to be shorter but more visually interesting for the audience.

In terms of language Croydon Guardian uses shorter simple words. In addition to this they use slang words , in which we can see for example in the issue above in which they have used the word ' Cop ' rather than policeman/woman.
